    Window safety relay for a 1961 – 1965 Lincoln Continental and 1961 – 1966 Thunderbird. Also correct for Mercury Monterey, Montclair and Parklane for the Breezeway window relay. Also will work for Mercury Cougar models from 1969 – 1973.

    This relay is a NOS Ford window safety relay from another application. It has been modified to fit the Lincolns and Tbirds and Mercury Breezeway models.

    The steel case has a different mounting bracket which will fit some applications. If it does not fit your car properly you will need to swap it into the original steel body from your old, failed relay (including the solder connection for the ground-strap).

    Failure of this relay results in no power to any of the windows when the ignition is on. For Mercury Monterey, Montclair and Parklane, this relay controls the breezeway window.

    Given that the working internal components of this relay are original/correct, this is a better relay than any of the reproductions.

    This is the bracket that holds the top control switch underneath the dash on the left side of the steering column. It is held in place with two stainless steel screws.

    THIS SET IS FOR 1961 AND EARLY 1962 LINCOLN CONVERTIBLES. READ BELOW TO DETERMINE WHICH SET YOUR 62 NEEDS.
    WHEN REPLACING YOUR TOP CLOTH, NEVER REUSE THE OLD WIRE HARNESS. IT IS SO BRITTLE FROM AGE, THAT THE WIRES WILL COMMONLY BREAK, causing failure of the top function and SIGNIFICANT cost of repair.

    Up for sale is a brand new and complete set of convertible top wire harnesses for 1961 and EARLY 1962 Lincoln Convertibles. Part number C1VB-15B662-P

    To determine if your 1962 Convertible uses this harness (cars with a production date prior to 10/31/61), put the top down into the trunk, and count the wires coming out of the left and right side of the top. These will be fully exposed facing upward on the package tray. IF THE PASSENGER SIDE HARNESS HAS 5 WIRES AND THE DRIVER SIDE HAS 6 WIRES, THEN THE HARNESS SET IN THIS AUCTION IS CORRECT FOR YOU. IF THE COUNT IS 6 WIRES AND 3 WIRES , THEN YOU WILL NEED THE SET I SELL IN ANOTHER AUCTION FOR 1962 – 1965 LINCOLNS.

    These harnesses are mounted inside the right and left top pads of the convertible top, entering the trunk underneath the rear facing window.
    The plug ends connect either inside the right and left forward corners of the top frame, or on the underside of the “package tray” underneath the rear facing window.

    These wire harnesses have been professionally assembled, and have all the correct specifications; including wire gauge, correct colored plug ends, and correct wire looms and banding.

    When installing be careful to properly match up the plug connections.

    DO NOT EVER REUSE THE OLD HARNESSES ALREADY IN YOUR CAR. 50+ YEARS OF BENDING BACK AND FORTH AS THE TOP GOES UP AND DOWN WILL ULTIMATELY CAUSE THE WIRES TO BREAK and the top function to fail.

    This 20-page manual has been created because Ford never produced one. While the various diagrams outlining system layout and parts numbers are available, they are scattered across 3500 pages of reference material in four weighty and expensive manuals. To make matters worse, the Ford manuals are very confusing in a variety of ways.

    To help resolve this, I have worked through all the manuals, using a 1961 Lincoln Convertible as a reference point to confirm physical layout. The result of that effort is contained in these pages.

    What you will receive is 6 pages containing a written overview of the entire system. The remaining 19 pages are ALL of the specific exploded parts diagrams and layouts provided originally across thousands of pages of Ford manuals. This is finished up with a single sheet that diagrams the vacuum line routing that supports
    all Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning, Vacuum Door Locks, and Vacuum Intermittent Wipers.
    This is not available from any other vendor.

    BRAND NEW Arm Shaft for the upper back panel gear drive of a Lincoln or Thunderbird Convertible, 1964-1967.

    This is the steel shaft that inserts through the Upper Back Panel Gear Drive and mates with the Upper Back Panel Limit Switch.

    These will commonly fail where they pass through the flat gear inside the gear drive. The steel surface on the original gear drive arm shaft rounds over, allowing the arm to slip inside the gear.

    The old damage arm will be torched out, and this new one (HARDENED STEEL) welded into its place. This shaft is “KEYED” to fit into the “D” shape hole in the arm. A simple welding repair.

    For sale is a rebuilt Knife Switch for a 1964 and 1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible. This switch is mounted inside the right and left rear doors and is attached to a spring loaded arm assembly that follows the window as it moves up and down inside the door. This switch conveys the window position (up, partially down, fully down) to the rest of the system.

    Failure of this switch may affect the ability of the window to drop properly when the door is opened, or the ability of the window to return up when it is closed.
